Sunday, September 7, 2025, marked the first Sunday in the Season of Creation, Rally Day, and our September Sunday Social! It was a time to get back into our routines and re-engage with our church community.

Our worship service was filled with energy and meaning as we introduced new service music and liturgy, and celebrated with the gifts of our excellent choir and brass musicians.

After worship, the congregation enjoyed a variety of fellowship opportunities, including:

  • Making crafts for our Season of Creation display

  • Exploring opportunities to get more involved by signing up for one (or more!) of our committees

  • Sharing delicious food and fellowship at this month’s Sunday Social

The Season of Creation

Each year, from September 1 to October 4, Christians around the globe come together in a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. It is a sacred season when we rejoice in God as Creator, recognize Creation as an ongoing act of divine love, and renew our call to care for the earth and all who dwell in it.

As followers of Christ, we are co-creatures woven into the fabric of Creation. Our well-being is deeply connected with the well-being of the earth. The Season of Creation reminds us of our shared responsibility to safeguard this gift of life and to seek justice for all of God’s creatures.

This Year’s Theme: Peace with Creation

In 2025, the theme guiding the Season of Creation was Peace with Creation, inspired by the words of Isaiah 32:14–18:

“Until a spirit from on high is poured out on us,

and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,

and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.

Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,

and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.

The effect of righteousness will be peace,

and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.”

This vision from Isaiah called us to imagine and work toward a world where justice and righteousness flow through Creation, leading to peace and flourishing for all beings.

We look forward to continuing this new season of worship, fellowship, and action. It was a joy to lift our voices in song, share community together, and step into the Season of Creation with hope and gratitude.
