A Day of Wellness and Community Connection

On October 5th, St. Stephen’s hosted a Senior Health Fair, welcoming adults aged 55 and older to a day dedicated to enhancing well-being and fostering community connections. The fair brought together seniors and local health experts to promote health awareness and resources.

A Day Dedicated to Health

Attendees were treated to a variety of free health screenings, consultations, and informational resources tailored specifically for seniors. They were able to take proactive steps toward better health, gaining access to:

  • Blood Pressure Readings: Quick checks to monitor heart health.

  • Elder Law Consultation: Guidance on important legal considerations for seniors.

  • Flu Shots: Vital vaccinations (insurance card required).

  • Hearing Screenings: Assessments to ensure auditory health.

  • Medicare Plan Advisors: Personalized advice on navigating Medicare options.

  • Mental Health Resources: Support and information to foster emotional well-being.

  • Information on Senior Living Facilities: Options for comfortable living arrangements.

  • Physical & Occupational Therapy: Insights into therapies for improved mobility and daily living skills.

Engaging with Local Experts

The fair featured an array of dedicated vendors, each contributing their expertise to the day’s activities. Participants had the chance to connect with representatives from: 3DPT, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira Health & Wellness, Jersey Elder Law, Medicare Choices 101, NovaCare Rehabilitation, Partners in Homecare, Rite Aid, Senior Health Solutions, Visiting Audiology and Woodbury Mews

A huge thank you goes out to each of these organizations for providing valuable information and resources, helping attendees navigate their health journeys and discover the support available in their community.

Building Community Connections

Beyond the health screenings and consultations, the fair was a fantastic opportunity for seniors to socialize and connect with one another. The camaraderie among participants created a warm and welcoming environment, reinforcing the sense of community that St. Stephen’s embodies.
